Nevada Small Business Administration - SBA
The Nevada SBA is supported by a district office in Las Vegas and an additional location in Carson City. They provide services including funding programs, counseling, federal contracting, certifications, and disaster recovery. They can also connect you to partner organizations, lenders, and other community groups that help small businesses succeed.
The district office in Las Vegas serves Clark, Lincoln, Nye, and Esmeralda counties.
The office in Carson City serves Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Washoe, White Pine, and Storey counties and the city of Carson City.

Nevada Women’s Business Center
The Nevada Women’s Business Center provides free business education, training, and support to help you succeed.
Workshops and classes are facilitated by dedicated staff and volunteers, who are experts in their field. Classes range from one-hour entrepreneurial exploration workshops or technology for your small business, to the most comprehensive multi-session business planning series, MBA Entrepreneur Academy.
The Women’s Business Center also works with a variety of Certified Development Financial Institutions (CDFI’s) across the nation to package loans for a variety of loan options that include microloans, and small business loans. The lending products are geared to borrowers who earn an average annual income at or below 80% of the median household income level in the area where they live and/or operate in retail, manufacturing and service-based businesses in underserved areas of Nevada, as well as entrepreneurs with less than good credit.

Nevada Small Business Development Center - NSBDC
Nevada SBDC guides and assists Nevadans looking to start and grow businesses, with objectives to increase business starts, create and retain jobs, and increase access to capital. One-on-one advising services are free and confidential. Nevada SBDC also offers and coordinates a wide range of workshops and courses in collaboration with public and private entities.
Starting a business: Advising related to legal structure selection, licensing, and permitting, market research, site selection, business plan creation, finding capital and franchising agreements are available.
Growing a business: Advisors can help you with managing cash flow, strategic planning, developing a network, rebranding and reinventing, establishing personnel policies, marketing, and creating an exit strategy.

The University of Nevada’s Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship serves as a point of inspiration and clearinghouse for information, and an idea space that facilitates entrepreneurship, moving ideas into action. Its goals are to focus on the development of students' entrepreneurial skills, assist faculty in commercializing their research, and improve northern Nevada's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The Center’s popular Sontag Entrepreneurship Competition adds significantly to the entrepreneurial ecosystem by helping student entrepreneurs develop their business ideas. This competition includes a single prize of $50,000 given to the winning team.
A number of other events include the International Women’s Entrepreneurship Symposium, the Nevada Global Business and Economics Lab (NVGLOBE-L), a Distinguished Lecture Series, and a research symposia.
