Trade Show Planner: Press Release

Your 12 month trade show checklist

Writing a press release is just one task in a large checklist you’ll need to complete as a trade show exhibitor. Review my entire pre-show, on-site, and post-show checklist of exhibitor planning activities.

Trade Show Planning:
Write and Distribute a Press Release and Media Alert

1 MONTH TO GO. PRE-SHOW ACTIVITIES.

Write a press release announcing that you will be exhibiting at the show and what attendees should expect to learn in your booth.

In addition to distributing it over the traditional distribution channels like PRWeb, PR Newswire, Business Wire, EIN Presswire, and others, email it to your customers, prospects, and key media contacts that you may have spoken with in the past.

Send it directly to select members of the media with whom you would like to have a personal meeting in your booth.

Is a member of your executive management team speaking at the show? Are you announcing a new product? Let everyone know why you will be there and incentivize them to stop by the booth.

This is also the perfect time to write a media alert to be distributed to registered press attendees 1-2 weeks before the show reminding them of your speaker session, a press conference, or other specific activity you will be conducting.
