Lisa’s Rise. From Startup Challenges to Leadership Success for Women Entrepreneurs.
When I started my business, TECHmarc Labs, I jumped in with both feet, using my own savings. With limited funds and no job to fall back on, it was all or nothing. I couldn't waste time. I had to succeed quickly. That intense pressure pushed me to take bold steps I would never have considered before.
I emerged stronger each time by pushing through discomfort. From cold sales outreach to bootstrapping marketing strategies, early successes taught me that leadership blooms in vulnerability, not isolation.
My biggest breakthrough came when I shed the lone-wolf mindset I'd clung to for years. I always thought I had to figure it all out solo, but success arrived when I started asking for help. Opening up about uncertainties—whether seeking funding advice or emotional support—unlocked a world of resources including contacts, knowledge, and even financial backing that I hadn't anticipated.
Becoming the advisory board chair for a women's entrepreneurship organization, I saw this ripple outward. Women at every stage, including dreamers with no roadmap or those stuck mid-journey, thrive more quickly and powerfully when surrounded by other women who lift them up. This fueled my passion.
That's why I wrote Trade Show 411. To shortcut the steep learning curve of event management, sharing insider tactics I wish I'd had when I first started my career. And Startup Over Lunch: Marketing Strategy in 60 Minutes to Fire Up Your Business distills my no-fluff playbook for busy aspiring owners and enables them to hit the ground running and avoid time-wasting pitfalls. I want you to draw straight from my battles and wins. These aren't theories; they're the tools that help turn uncertainty into lasting momentum.
Today, I pay it forward. I empower women to claim their leadership. Your journey starts with one step. My goal is to make it count.
