What is an End Cap Booth?

An end cap booth is a trade show booth layout in which the front and both sides of the booth are open to aisles. Visualize this booth format as two corner booths at the end of a row of linear booths which are put together to form one booth. The back of the end cap booth abuts the side of the two booths behind it. The size is normally 10 x 20 ft.

If you are familiar with other booth terms, an end cap booth could also be thought of as similar to a peninsula booth or split island booth in the way it is positioned alongside other booths.

The sample trade show floor plan layout below provides a perfect comparison between the end cap booth, split island and peninsula booths.

Benefit of an end cap booth.

Show attendees are better able to see an end cap booth from a greater distance because it is at the end of a row of inline booths at the center of three intersecting aisles.

Drawback of an end cap booth.

An end cap booth does have a height restriction imposed by the show decorator.

Remember that the back of an end cap booth is adjacent to two inline booths. This restricts the sight line of show attendees from the aisle, around your end cap booth, to the two inline or linear booths behind it.

To ensure that there is adequate line of sight to the booths behind the end cap booth, a height restriction is placed on the exhibitor’s end cap booth structure.
