What is Floor Marking?
Floor marking refers to the actual marking of the convention center or expo hall floor with tape or another material to show the edges of each booth location.
Each exhibitor’s carpet, booth structure, and signage must be installed within the parameters of this tape.
Floor marking tape comes in a variety of colors. Its heavy-duty vinyl is extremely durable and provides a strong bond when placed on the floor but can be removed cleanly without leaving any residue.
As you can see in this photo from the San Diego Convention Center, the show decorator placed white marking tape on the floor to outline where the exhibitor’s booth space is located.
During installation, the contractor hired to install the exhibitor’s booth works within the marked lines to set up the exhibitor carpet and booth.
This ensures alignment with the other booths in the row and enables the easy installation of aisle carpet once all booths are in place.
