What is a Bare Booth?
A bare booth or bare space is the physical space on the convention center floor that is taped off and reserved for you once you have signed the show’s exhibitor contract.
It is the designated area in which you will exhibit. You, as the exhibitor, are responsible for designing, building, installing, and dismantling the booth, all furniture and other materials, and all signage.
As you can see below, you are given raw space. The convention center floor is marked off in white tape in preparation for exhibitor booth installation.

Want to build your own booth?
The costs to build your physical booth structure, ship it, install it, and dismantle it are all extra expenses so the bare booth cost should be listed as a separate line item in your trade show budget.
Want to rent a booth from the show decorator?
Renting a booth directly from the show organizer can be helpful. There will be no need to ship the booth, or assemble and dismantle it. It will already be in place when you arrive and you can simply walk away when the show is over. However, don’t expect that a trade show booth structure will be included in the price you pay for your bare space. It will not. You will need to rent and pay for a booth structure separately unless a turnkey package is offered by show management.
Important reminder
The price of a bare booth space also does not include furniture, utilities, Internet, or other services. Whether you choose to build and ship your own booth or rent a booth from the show, you much purchase each of these items separately.
A Bare Booth can also be referred to as Booth Area. See also: Floor Marking
